Zebra Hugs
Hi again! I'm back with another cross stitch card. I know, I've done several of them recently, but I can't get enough of them!! I swear I'll move on to some other mediums soon!! :)
This card is being sent to someone I look up to in the crafting community. Maymay Helms is seriously an inspiration to me when it comes to crafting and her faith. She inspires me not only to make cards but to also send them out to those who might need a pick me up and encourage other Christians who might be going through a trial and just need a boost. Plus, she's just plain fun to listen to and watch! So if you love crafting and need a pick me up, look her up on her You Tube channel, Maymay Made It.
I wanted to make something to send to Maymay and I know she loves the color red and zebra pattern. So I decided to make a zebra heart on a red background. I first used the paper smooches cross stitch die to cut out the holes for the cross stitching. Then, I sketched out the heart on the back side of the paper in order to make sure the heart fit and was centered. I then sketched out where I wanted the zebra stripes to go and where I best thought they would look. Then I went to town stitching.
After the stitching was finished I back stitched in silver around the heart and the entire rectangle. Then I die cut out the word "hugs" in red 3 times and glued it together with Art Glitter Glue. I then added Nuvo Glitter pen to the sentiment for a little shimmer and put Glossy Accents over it so it would really pop out.
I then trimmed the panel down to a quarter inch all the way around the stitching, then matted it with black and red card stock and placed it on an A2 card base.
I think it gives off the feel I was going for and I think Maymay will enjoy it. Hope you enjoyed it too! Thanks for visiting!
